Commencement festivities mark a significant milestone

May 11, 2024 will be remembered by many as a milestone, the day they walked across the stage at Mayville State’s Lewy Lee Fieldhouse to receive their college diplomas. In the annual commencement ceremony, those who completed their graduation requirements at the conclusion of the Fall Semester of 2023 or the Spring Semester of 2024, as well as those who will complete their degree requirements during the Summer Session of 2024, were recognized.

Employees recognized for years of service

The Mayville State University employee recognition banquet, held Thursday evening, May 2, 2024, was a tribute to the employees of Mayville State for their work and commitment to the university. The annual event was held at the Mayville State Campus Center Luckasen Room. All Mayville State employees and their guests were invited to attend, as were Mayville State retirees and their guests.

Mehus and Tvedt teaming up for Plant-a-Pot event in support of Mayville Public Library

A Plant-a-Pot event is planned for Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mayville Public Library. In the spirit of service to the community, Dr. Joseph Mehus, Associate Professor of Biology and INBRE Researcher at Mayville State University, and Kelli Tvedt, a deputy with the Traill County Sheriff’s Department, are heading up the event which is being held to raise funds in support of the Mayville Public Library.

Commencement 2024, a time for celebration and reflection

Mayville State University alumnus and legendary Comets baseball coach Scott Berry delivered the annual commencement address at Mayville State University Saturday, May 11. The Lewy Lee Fieldhouse was filled with graduates, faculty, staff, alumni, and family members and friends who gathered to take part in the festivities and wish Mayville State's newest alumni well as they finish one chapter and move on to another in their journey in life.

Dr. Brittany Hagen receives Jeff Sieg Award for Teaching Excellence

Dr. Brittany Hagen, Associate Professor of Education, has been named the 2023-24 recipient of the Jeff Sieg Award for Teaching Excellence at Mayville State University. The award was presented as part of the annual Academic and Student Senate Awards Program held Monday, April 29, 2024.

It was an honor and a pleasure to attend the 2024 Mayville State Comets Senior Athlete Recognition Banquet. The event was held at the Mayville Golf Course on May 1 and included a time for recognition, as well as a meal for all who attended.
